Dr. Edmunds
Meade Edmunds, MD, is a leading gastroenterologist and founder of Edmunds Gastroenterology in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dr. Edmunds believes in delivering care of the highest possible quality, and also in creating a safe and compassionate environment for every person he sees. His ability and willingness to thoroughly explain every aspect of gastrointestinal health is widely praised by his former patients, and no matter the diagnosis, he empowers the men and women he treats to make careful and considered decisions about their health.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, Dr. Edmunds pursued an internship at the University of Rochester in New York and completed a fellowship there as well. Dr. Edmunds is currently a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Gastroenterological Association, keeping him up-to-date on all the latest procedures, techniques, and technology in his field.
When he’s not at the office, Dr. Edmunds enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, including coaching their youth sports teams, as well as fishing and farming.
Jeremy Austin, FNP-C
Jeremy Austin is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University where he completed his Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2019. Jeremy is a board certified nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and he is also a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee. Jeremy has 10 years of medical experience including inpatient care in the Neuro ICU and medical intensive care unit. He has worked in GI for the past 5 years. He enjoys providing excellent patient care for all GI conditions and incorporating the patient in the decision making process to ensure optimal care. Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family when he is away from the office. He enjoys sports, outdoor activities and coaching his kids youth sports teams.
Kim Dunaway, Nurse Practitioner
Kim Dunaway is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. Kim is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and Carson Newman. Kim received her master’s in nursing in 2001 and began her career in neonatal care. Kim worked in Family Practice for 10 years then moved to Gl in 2012 seeing all Gl related conditions, specializing in Hepatology including participation in research. Kim has also worked in aesthetics, allergy/asthma/immunology, and geri-atrics. When not working, Kim enjoys many hours with her 3 children, weightlifting and classes on self-care.
